Governor Evers Requests Presidential Disaster Declaration in response to COVID-19 Pandemic.
March 31, 2020
Statement from Mayor Michael Bablick
March 25, 2020
“After considerable personal contemplation, legal review, and evaluation of the current orders by Governor Evers, I have decided today to issue this proclamation. This will allow the City to adequately respond to any issues that may arise, either in order to comply with current or future Governors' Orders or other COVID 19 related issues. Key issues that made this proclamation necessary were: the proclamation allows council to meet electronically; allows emergency changes to employee manual regarding sick leave/vacation policy; gives the Mayor the ability to expend City funds to protect the safety and health of the public; and permits the mayor to dispense with any ordinance that would otherwise hinder the health and safety of the community. This proclamation will be put forth to the City Council for expiration or extension at the April 21, 2020 Common Council meeting, which will be held electronically (details will be available when agenda is posted). I encourage any citizen to contact the City Administrator or myself at 715-762-2436 with any concerns or questions.”
Please see the full proclamation in "Recent News" on this web site.
