Office Closing due to COVID-19
Dear Citizens, Colleagues, and Employees of Park Falls:
As we are all aware, on March 11, 2020, the COVID-19 was officially declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a global pandemic. COVID-19 is a virus that has not previously infected humans and information about its rate of spread and its effects is still largely unknown, which makes it incredibly important to be highly cautious in dealing with the current situation. With the Governor’s Declaration of a State of Emergency and the requirement to limit gathering of 250 people or more, and with the cancellation of Schools and Public Offices State-wide, we have decided, with great regret, to CLOSE government offices in order to follow the same quarantine period recommended by the State.
Beginning Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 5:00am, the City of Park Falls will close its City Hall and Public Library to the public for a period ending on Monday, April 6, 2020, at 5:00am. The Park Falls Police Department and Fire Department will remain available during this period. Please stay tuned to Facebook, City Website, City Text Alert, Price County Review and 98Q WCQM radio regarding your City Government. Also, we are asking people to following the social distancing guidelines laid out by WHO, Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
City personnel will remain at city hall, and we request any payments be left in our drop box at the South Entrance to City Hall. Payments can also be made online with a convenience fee.
At this point, the City is awaiting guidance from the Wisconsin Election Commission on how to proceed with the Tuesday, April 7, 2020 election.
Thank you all for your understanding and as everyone works together, we will be able to ensure a prosperous future for the City of Park Falls.
